John J. Callaghan is a multidisciplinary consulting engineer with qualifications and experience spanning electro-mechanical engineering technology, civil and structural engineering, building design, construction and property development. He has undertaken postgraduate studies in Energy Management and Building Surveying and holds an Advanced Diploma in Planning and Environmental Law from the Honorable Society of King’s Inns.

His multidisciplinary experience in design and construction gives him a strong understanding of how buildings are conceived, detailed, built, altered and maintained. He applies this knowledge to building pathology—the investigation of defects, deterioration, moisture problems, structural movement and failures in building performance—to identify probable causes and recommend proportionate remedial action.

John is a Member of Engineers Ireland (MIEI) and an Associate Member of the Energy Institute (AMEI). His work combines engineering judgement, building assessment, energy performance and planning knowledge to provide practical, evidence-based and commercially focused property advice.
